Therapy Rooted in Connection, Understanding, and Growth

I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you should feel seen, heard, and supported, not judged or defined by the challenges you are facing. My approach is warm, honest, and individualized, recognizing that every person brings their own story, strengths, and experiences into the therapy room.

I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, relationship challenges, identity shifts, and major life transitions. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, adjusting to a new season of life, managing career or academic stress, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, therapy can provide the space and tools to create meaningful change.

My goal is to meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be building insight, developing practical skills, and creating sustainable growth that extends beyond the therapy session.

First Responders & Helping Professionals

I have a deep appreciation for those who dedicate their lives to serving others. I understand the unique pressures that can come with being a first responder and the emotional weight that often follows you home.

My passion for supporting first responders is both personal and professional. I grew up with a father who served as a first responder and later became the sister of a first responder. While I didn't realize at the time where that connection would lead me, it shaped my understanding and respect for the sacrifices made by those in helping professions. I have also completed ride-alongs to gain a deeper understanding of the environments, experiences, and challenges first responders face.

Whether you are navigating stress, burnout, trauma exposure, compassion fatigue, relationship challenges, or the difficulty of balancing your personal and professional life, I provide a space where you can focus on yourself, not just the people you serve. Feel free to check out my EMS book in merchandise or directly reach out to discuss access to a copy.

Caregivers & Parents

Caring for others can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be exhausting when your own needs continually move to the bottom of the list. I support caregivers and parents who are navigating stress, burnout, identity changes, emotional overwhelm, and the many challenges that come with caring for others.

My experience working with caregivers comes from both my professional and personal life. I have worked in senior services, supporting individuals and families through complex needs, and I have worked within Community Mental Health and their partnering agencies, supporting caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I also understand the personal transition into parenthood and the ways parenthood can reshape identity, priorities, and daily life.

Children, Adolescents & Families

Children and adolescents often communicate their struggles in ways that look different than adults. I believe creating a safe, supportive relationship is essential in helping young people feel understood while also supporting families through the process.

My experience working within Community Mental Health provided me the opportunity to support children and families in both home-based and outpatient settings. This experience allowed me to understand not only the child's perspective, but also the challenges and strengths that families bring into the therapy process. I value working collaboratively with families to create meaningful support and lasting change.

I believe children deserve access to consistent, meaningful mental health care without having to regularly miss school to receive it. Because of this, I intentionally reserve specific appointment times for children within my practice and keep my child caseload limited so I can provide each young client with the time and attention they deserve.

Availability for children may be limited at times, but I maintain a waitlist so families can still reach out. Working with children is an important part of my practice, and I am intentional about creating space for them while also protecting the quality and consistency of their care. I work with children 5 years of age or older.

Individuals with Disabilities & Their Support Systems

I believe every person deserves a space where they are valued, understood, and supported as a whole person, not defined by a diagnosis or disability. Therapy can provide an opportunity to explore identity, relationships, independence, emotional well-being, and the unique experiences that come with navigating a world that does not always meet everyone's needs.

I bring over seven years of experience working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including roles focused on program management and development. This work drove me to get my masters degree. It has deepened my understanding of advocacy, accessibility, family systems, and the importance of creating environments where individuals can thrive. I currently serve as a board member for The Arc of Calhoun County, continuing my commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and their communities.

College Students & Life Transitions

Fun fact: your brain isn't fully developed until around age 25–26. So if you're 18, 22, or even 30 and still trying to figure things out...you're not behind.

Some seasons of life feel like an exciting new beginning. Others feel more like standing in the middle of a crossroads wondering how everyone else seems to know where they're going.

I know what it's like to feel stagnant and decide that something needs to change. I know what it's like to feel the pressure of keeping the trains running on time, doing your best at work, managing responsibilities, making decisions about the future, and trying not to lose yourself somewhere in the process.

I've also spent years connected to higher education, both through my own educational journey and through my husband's work at a community college. I understand that college and early adulthood can bring a very particular mix of freedom, pressure, uncertainty, and possibility.

You don't need to have all the answers before starting therapy. Sometimes you just need somewhere to slow down, make sense of where you are, and figure out what you actually want your next chapter to look like.
